TUESDAY Club Broadcasts
The IARS hosts a weekly broadcast of club news at 7:30pm every Tuesday evening except for the second Tuesday of the month (which is the monthly club meeting night). This broadcast goes out on the 2M Coastlink repeaters, and is followed by callbacks. All amateur operators are welcome to join in.
Members are encouraged to submit news and information items for the club broadcast. These must be made available by the preceeding Friday. Send your news items to Jack VK2XGD (E-mail).
SUNDAY Amateur Radio NSW Broadcasts
On Sunday mornings at 10:00 hours and Sunday evenings at 19:30 hours (7:30PM), the Amateur Radio NSW broadcasts are automatically connected into the Club’s 6m repeater and to all of the VHF “Coastlink” repeaters, plus from the 2nd of February, the broadcasts were also linked through to all of the UHF “Eastlink” repeaters. Thus, the Illawarra Amateur Radio Society will be transmitting or linking the VK2 Broadcast onto the 6m, 2m or 70cm bands in a geographical area bordered by Sydney in the north, Narooma in the south and west to Goulburn, Canberra and Wagga Wagga.
The Sunday broadcasts begin with the weekly broadcast from the WIA, and is typically followed by the Amateur Radio NSW VK2 news.
The Club also runs call-backs after each broadcast and welcomes calls from operators on any of the nine linked repeaters.
