K7QO’s Morse code course now in the IARS library
Nov 10th, 2007 by librarian
I’ve added a new item to the IARS club library:
- K7QO’s Morse Code Course v3.0 CD-ROM, by Chuck Adam K7QO
This is a CD containing over 400 megabytes of MP3 files (20 hours) for training the ear for Morse code. Here’s a bit from Chuck on his approach to learning Morse:
My job is to guide you through the swamp of bad habits and keep you from falling into the quicksand. If you learned the code any other way than rote memorization of the sounds, you may need to start over. Anyone that teaches or shows the Morse code with dots and dashes or other visual aids is killing off high speeds and ruining a bunch of good minds. Don’t use any materials or computer programs that show you dits and dahs, etc. for feedback. Only the letters and characters themselves.
You can borrow the library copy at any IARS meeting. Or, you if you have broadband Internet access, you can download the CD-ROM image yourself from:
We have lots of other books and material in the library too. You can see the library catalog at the IARS Yahoo! group.
